Are there any cheap options to be able to stitch together a high quality panorama? Unfortunately I only have LR 5 and a few year old photoshop elements so I don't think I'm equipped currently.

Absolutely Microsoft ICE. Easy to use, great results and free!! I use it all the time and highly recommend it.

I have Photoshop Elements 13 and all I ever use it for is panoramas....

If you have Photoshop Elements you should be able to do that. I didn’t use it with Elements, but it has had it for a long time. v. 2 mentions “Photomerge” for doing panoramas.

I started with Microsoft ICE and settled with Hugin then. ICE usually gives you nice results from the start but when something goes wrong you have limited options to correct the panorama (at least with the version I tried a few years ago).
With Hugin the start results are often a little flawed but you can put in your own control points and improve the pano in that way.

I used to use Hugin and ICE.
Hugin was my go-to program unless it did not stitch well, then I'd try ICE
ICE is limited to what it can/try do, while Hugin has lots of controls.

Nowadays, Photoshop CC has caught on by a lot and I've not needed to use Hugin or ICE.
