Capture one Pro 4.5

I heard that this software is the best in processing raw. So, I dl the trail version. However, I can't even import the PEF files from K20D (but they said they support it).
Anyone have similar experience? Any help?

you can convert .PEF to .DNG using Abobe DNG Converter (free software), then C1 will be able to open your files.

"The Best?" Humm, maybe one of the best. RAW converter performance is very subjective. I'd try a few different demos for yourself and see which one you prefer.

I heard that DNG is not native designed for Pentax. So, Capture One Pro display the color not so "Pentax"

Some other people in other forum answer this:

Yes, it's a known bug. When Pentax went to firmware v1.01 they changed the manufacturer name in the EXIF data. ie. Pentax Corporation to just Pentax.

For some reason this key is hard-coded in Capture One, rather than being a configuration file. As a result they have to release a service pack to update the problem. There is no schedule yet for the service pack to fix the problem.

you could also directly change the settings in your K20D to record DNG instead of PEF.

C1 has its own profiles for cameras, I believe (as I am not using it - I can only believe)... there is a "color profiles" folder inside the directory where it was installed and "dslr" subfolder - there they are.

Or with the Pentax software.

I tried to process some images with the new 4.52 (fixed the error to import files from K20D)

However, I found that the noise reduction is not very strong. Any tips in using the noise reduction functions?
