after downloading the demo ... slow with K1 RAWs.
This could be a realy good piece of software, but changing parameters in devoloping makes your new top computer feel like an very old one ...

It sounds like a really good editing solution. I might try the 30 day trial as well. I haven't been using the version that came with the K1 because I found it too slow although I have read about, forum members having good experiences with the purchased version.

Currently using Developer Studio Pro 9. Pretty happy with it. Started with version 8. Being late to the digital game, I have never used anything other than Silkypix software. I see an upgrade in the near future.

Some of those new features are done by Pentax in camera, but it's nice to have align and stacking of raws.

If I'm not mistaken, Silkypix 10 will do "hand held Pixel Shift" from separate RAWs, but not from a K-1 II dynamic Pixel Shift RAW.
Although one could extract the separate images (e.g. with RawTherapee) in a pinch.

I think you are mistaken. So, if I am not mistaken, SPD9 can load pixel shift files but not the hand held PS files.

With the normal PS files, SPD9 applies the demosaicing decided in camera (MC or no MC) but user can change that.

For SPD10, it seems nothing is changed, although I haven't installed the demo version to check that out. It could be interesting to stack a normal RAW and PS RAW using the moving area stacking mode, but in the comments they say that it only works well with solid background and obvious motion, so I guess it won't work well to remove PS motion artifacts, although someone could try to see if that SPD10 mode would work better than the Pentax PS MC or better than the RT method of PS MC.

Due to currency fluctuations, that's now $254. Should have bought an hour ago.

I know that the versions I have allow you to install it on three computers per license. Comes in handy. Upgrade for me is only about $90.

There is a cheaper price for owners of SPD9. As owner of SPD9, I find that the image quality of raw conversion is one of the best, but there are downsides to Silkypix, slow to compute, some key features missing, no cataloging, no layer masking. I don't know how they can compete , because there are "better" and cheaper image processing software (ACDSee is one of them). The most feature rich is LR, but no thanks for the pricing.
