In the old days, not every site was HTTPS.
Ricoh probably thought that since no sensitive data was being transferred on that part of their site, a secure certificate wasn't worth bothering about since the data flow didn't need encryption. They do know how to do HTTPS if need be (eg
PENTAX RICOH Imaging Store), of course.
HTTPS nowadays as a identity verification tool is pretty worthless too, since most website certificates are issued without any proof of identity requirement.
As a basic check, examine the URL and the rest of the site to see if the address seems legit.
