Eizo monitors and Windows 11

Just a heads up. My computer is capable of being updated to Win11 OS and I have the "invite" via Microsoft updates.

I did a bit of compatibility checking before going ahead and discovered the Eizo calibration software is not capable of working with Win11 yet. From the Eizo website:

"We highly recommend not using a PC installed with Microsoft Windows 11 for the time being"

So if you use an Eizo monitor, best leave the update for now.

That's going to be the case with lots of drivers and software. Unless you've got a pressing reason to update to Win11, I'd recommend waiting for anybody that depends on their system. Is there something so amazing we can't live without for a while?

I haven’t used an Eizo in years. I used to have four on my desk at one time. That’s a blast from the past for me.

You mean like the verified boot-able full system image/backup?

Thanks for the heads up.

Windows 11 is not much of a concern at the moment since I need a TPM module first. These are in short supply and I'm not willing to 7 or 8 times over the MSRP from the vendors that claim to have it in stock.

I've never been an early adopter of Windows to begin with and tend to wait 5-6 months before going with a major update.

Many major software suites have not yet released their Win11 updates. It makes sense not to be an early adopter. As others have pointed out, at least 6 months would seem to be wise.

Sadly this is a typical experience for early adopters, you pay the price for being on that edge.

Bring back Win 7, it was my favorite. Maybe 11 will fix the things I don't like about 10. One can hope.

You must be an eternal optimist.

So far, Win11 has been a complete waste of time.

With the exception of one particular (random access) SSD benchmark it is either as fast as or slower than Win10 and introduces further inflexibility, such as the inability to move the task bar to the sides.

I'll use Win10 as long as I can.

That's another good reason to wait. With major new versions, there is always some inexplicable stuff they want to force on you (or forcibly take away from you). Then there is a big backlash, and oftentimes they will restore treasured features they took away for no reason.

...Really? As a user of multiple monitors, that feature being absent kills it dead for me.
