How do I add a frame in PS Elements?

Can anyone tell me in laymans terms how to add a frame to an image in PS Elements? I have PSE 5.0. I've seen some creative frames added to images in this forum, but I'm having trouble learning this process. Can it be done in PSE 5.0?

Any assistance is appreciated Thank you.

Cindy, my frames are achieved by expaning the canvas by nn pixels, equal on all sides - but that's in CS2 and PS6. Should be the same in Elements.

Depends on what kind of frame. You could use a spatter type frame using a brush on a new layer. You could create a selection/fill with color then delete the center part (On a separate layer of course, not the picture layer itself.) And the picture should always be a touch above center. Those are a couple of the basics I use. Use your imagination and have fun.

Thank you both for your response. I will try both options and go from there.

Thanks again

I know it is not in PS, Cindy, but you could have a look at :

Bordermaker, photo editing suite

Is a free site.

You could actually shoot a couple of real frames and use that also. Just a thought. Merry Crhistmas. (No, I am definately not politically correct)
