Barebones editing program?

I am exclusively a film camera user, however I recently bought a scanner to email photos and post to photo sites.
I love the conventional wet darkroom, and am not interested in printing from digital files.

Top editing programs are very powerful but rather complicated. I don't need or want anything like that.

Are there any easy-to-use programs that will provide only the most basic, essential editing tools for my needs?
Recommendations, please...

TIA,
Chris

Hey Chris,

Photoshop Elements will do a lot for you, and it's not expensive. Even cheaper (free) is Paint.net - it does all the basics: Paint.NET - Free Software for Digital Photo Editing

Cheers,
Marc

Picassa

Picassa is basic, free and does a pretty good job as an intuitive editing and file storage software. Also, is the easiest photo processing tool I can think of.

Adobe Lightroom is probably what you want. It's like your conventional darkroom (only lighter)

IrfanView provides some really barebones tools.

The software that came with your scanner should have some basic editing in it.
I'd try that and if not enough options, use the Irfanview that was mentioned.

Adobe - Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2

Depending upon how basic, Adobe has a Photo Album Starter tool that is free and a decent organizer. I also like Picasa and Ifran though.
