Makes sense. But wouldn't it be so much nicer if you could batch correct the fisheye problems but still be able to tweak exposure for each individually? That's what upgrading will give you.
Oh, absolutely Marc... which is why I added the "for now" and such... PPL could be a good program if it had three or four extra features and a good GUI. But it doesn't, and it's horribly limiting.

I'm currently testing out as many programs as I can on their free trials before I plunk down the money for any of them.

Thanks for all the replies!!!

WOW~ Thank you everyone for all the replies and suggestions! It's really great to have so many Pentaxian helping a newbie out.

I definitely need something new. The Google's Picasa is crashing 5~10 times a night, while I have 17k pictures on the harddisc. 4GB of RAM does not help. I have been thinking about to switch to another program for awhile.

Probably that's why I was so frustrated about the Pentax software so difficult to use.

I really miss the good old days when a simple ACDsee would do a lot of cool stuff.

Make sure when you are comparing your software conversions that they are all set to the same colour space. I've bitten myself in the backside with this.

The current version of ACDSee (Pro 2.5) may be more complex than the older versions, but it pretty much needs to be in order to deal successfully with shooting RAW. It will have the advantage of feeling the most familiar to you, and really, it does the whole integrated browsing - RAW processing - editing - cataloging thing as well as anyone. Definitely worht checking out if you haven't already.
