Paint Shop Pro X2 for under $50.00 USD

If you are looking for a Photoshop alternative that is full featured, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

I have been using Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 since it came out and I can testify that it is full featured product that rivals Photoshop in almost every way. I had been using Photoshop from version 4.0, but I just couldn't justify the price tag anymore.

You can order it direct from the Corel website for only $49.99.

This is a limited time offer though so you may want to act fast if you are interested.

Hope this post is of value to someone.

Ray

I was thinking of this for a laptop and at that price I would buy it however when I go to Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 - Photo Editing it shows $10.00 for full price the $49.99 is an upgrade.

I've been running with a free version of PSPX for the past couple of years. Got the licence with a memory cart. Works great for my purposes.

They do send out specials from time-to-time, if you get on their email list...

The "non-ultimate" version is $70. If you don't need:

The Ultimate edition features valuable extras like media recovery software, a creative content pack, Corel® Painter™ Photo Essentials 4 and a 2 GB USB flash drive

Dave, don't know how Amazon.com does stuff to Canada, but the full ultimate version is $54.99 (US) there.

Sorry, Dave is right. The promotion mentioned on the home page is for the upgrade version. However, in Sunday's paper I did see an advertised price of $49.99 at Best Buy and it was advertised at Staples for that price a couple of weeks ago.

I highly recommend the software.

I ordered the ultimate version from Amazon a couple weeks ago and I really like it so far. I am still learning how to use it. I like it better than Elements. It also works on my 64 bit Vista operating system and Elements does not. Can't beat the Amazon price.

If I recall correctly, it was around $40 for the 2G Lexar Professional card, (about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago) along with the PSPx licence.

It was on sale, and a good at the time for the memory card alone. 2G Sandisk Extreme IIIs were around $60 locally.

I sent a message to Corel asking about K20 support for the non-ultimate version of PSPX2 and was basically told that they "don't know" if they will release a patch. That's disappointing because I love the software but don't really want to pay $30 to use the same suite for my new camera.

I downloaded the Lightroom 2 free trial, and yeah, that's a nice piece of software. Certainly not $300 nice, but it really makes me appreciate the value of PSPX2. I guess I'll have to upgrade, darnit.
