LR2 and a re-install...what will I lose

Howdy all...

seems while I was sleeping Ole faitfull, the comp that i do all my PP on has decied to die violently in it's sleep, and telling me so with a nice BSOD this morning. Looks like i have to re-install windows but with LR2 being my 70% PP workhorse, am i going to lose anything with my re-install? All my photos are on a different HDD, but are the catalouges and all that other good stuff saved in that same place, on my 2nd HHD or are they within /program files/adobe/lightroom2 ect?, so when i do load up windows again i will have all my photos, with edits on them and all that funky jazz?...maybe i should use bibble5? any help would be most appericated... and possibly better PPP

Have a good one!

I put my catalogues on the removable drive when I upgraded to 2.3. As long as you can find the catalogues, you can get LR to use them again. I suggest that once you have the machine running again, before you reinstall your LR, find the catalogues and save them.

By default, I believe LR catalogues are stored on the C drive, but there is an option to store a back up on a different location (drive). If you haven't changed the default settings, you've probably lost your catalogue during the meltdown.
When you reinstall LR, switch the back up catalogue over to a different drive. I have LR set to use a catalogue on my Photoshop swap drive (two drive stripe) for speed, but it backs up to a two drive mirror (for security).
I haven't used Bibble, so I can't comment on whether it's cataloguing abilities are up to Lightrooms abilities.
