When I had my k10d I never shot in raw so I didn't get a chance to use Pentax's Photo Lab software. I've been shooting raw with my 30d since I bought it and use Canon's Digital Photo Professional. Is Pentax's conversion software on par with Canon's? I only ask because I may pick up a Pentax k100d to play with. Thanks.....

Pentax Photo Laboratory, which I used for 18 months, is about as clunky as it gets for the interface. Pentax Photo Browser is handy for making the exif list and extracting a jpg from a RAW file.

I now use Elements 6 for processing, It is much more convenient, and has a spot-healing brush for dust-spotting or other fixes, which the Pentax software lacks. I can also level the horizon by drawing a line that I want horizontal on the image. With PPL, you have to click rotation arrows. As both my bodies have the Pentax lean to them, I use that feature on nearly every shot...
