Pentax Photo Laboratory, which I used for 18 months, is about as clunky as it gets for the interface. Pentax Photo Browser is handy for making the exif list and extracting a jpg from a RAW file.
I now use Elements 6 for processing, It is much more convenient, and has a spot-healing brush for dust-spotting or other fixes, which the Pentax software lacks. I can also level the horizon by drawing a line that I want horizontal on the image. With PPL, you have to click rotation arrows.
