Saving RAW files makes sense to me. I know my PP skills have improved greatly since buying a *istD. I've gone back to old files many times to start over with better results. Btw I use 1T hard drives to store files.

Well this brings up an interesting point...do we need to keep RAW files after we've processed them? Think of the space saved.
Why not save the space by not bothering to convert them to another format in the first place? Why not just leave them RAW? Or generate only medium resolution "web sized" JPEG's? I only generate full size JPEG's or TIFF for a tiny percentage of my files - ones I am giving someone else to make large prints from.

I don't actually have any jpgs of my photos, I export as jpgs, upload to flickr and then delete them, keeping only the RAW.
