Does anyone know if PPL 4.0 is available to download anywhere yet?

Latest version on pentaximaging.com is v3.61. Don't know where you're getting info on v4.0.

Found It!

I managed to find a copy posted on some "eastern" download site. I am not sure if it's okay to post the link here as it's probably not fully legal.

I am assuming that Pentax will release the update officially for all of us eventually though.

My first impressions of PPL 4 are good.

Lost It!

I received a couple of PMs asking for the link today, but I can't find it again. I forgot to bookmark it, and I don't remember what the exact google search words were. I tried every combination I could think of this morning to no avail...

Sorry for getting anyone excited.

For the record, PPL 4 is much faster and better laid out than the previous versions.

So far, it seems as though there is no way to have it make automatic lens adjustments for RAW files from my K20D. I suspect that it requires the embedded information from the K-7.

- Me too! Maybe your browser has a "Hystory" of visited pages in the menu, like in Tools (Opera) or a green round arrow button (IE) or something?

LE
- Same good rendering and good colour like in 3.61 but finaly have batch (individual settings). It's quick, but if you work with zoomed picture became slow responsive for few seconds (CPU 100%). Have some healing (spot tool). Misc.: "Spurious CSR" changes at start between 80 and 150 linked to PEFs iso, must dig to know if it have other automatic starting settings. Second time when open it crashed. Reinstalling didn't help, nor System Restore (XP SP3). Find the problem: sort of temporary files in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator(YourName)\Local Settings\Application Data\Pentax; it was enough to delete all content from there.

Here it Is

I hear the moderators have said it's okay to post the link, so here goes:

Click on the download (66 + MBs)

you will need to type "cnpentax.com" as the password to extract the RAR file.

Good luck!

Admin edit: linked file was found to be illegal; link removed.

Will this version work with the K20d and K200d? I have heard rumors that it will not.

I have tested and it works with k20D, so I believe it will also work with k200D.

Works With the K100D

It works with my K100D so I think that all models are probably good. It is just a RAW converter and picture organizer after all.
I have not tried any of the lens correction do dads but it reads my files and converts them to .jpegs with all of the whitebalance, sharpness, contrast, noise, rotation, etc. features.

I use aRGB as camera setting and sRGB when converted to jpeg. In v3.x one can specify which color space (aRGB or sRGB) for output jpeg files, but in V4 I cannot find it. Does anyone know where to set the color space in PPL v4?

Unfortunately the posted URL is not cooperative. After 51 mb it dumped me and could not get back again. Can't find any alternative URLS so far.

Update: Was able to download and try. Like the interface as compared to previous one. Little faster as compared to earlier in the aspects of zoom and when you apply changes, preview is faster. Also nice to see two different tabs for Browser and Laboratory instead of two software windows. While changing the colors / contrasts etc, now they are more like icons. For novice people, it may not be easy to identify what is what. It would be great if tool tip is highlighted when cursor moves over that icon.

ciao
