Please do not PM me for PPL 4

I just wanted to ask all of you to not PM me asking for the link to PPL 4 as it is a pirated version.

I'd like to say sorry to Adam and to Pentax that I posted it.

Gerry

I completely understand.

Incidentally, could you send me a copy of PPL 4?

Yes, but it will be on 46 floppies. Is that okay?

Obviously 1.44. The 5.25 is sooo outdated.

BTW, what's the software policy of Pentax usually? Do they release the newest siftware version with new cameras only or can users of previous versions some time upgrade for free?

I personally haven't even installed the previous (whatever) version as I either transfer files manually or use Aperture. Is this PPL for transfer and basic conversion?

Pentax (Hoya) probably license some major code from ISL (SilkyPix maker), so arrangement might be that ISL should be paid per copy, so new version can't be free (only upgrades are)... just my guess.

REMEMBER THEM? I used to write the drivers that compiled into the BIOS for them. So you could say I remember them, when screens were green (or amber) and cameras were something I would NEVER be interested in.

This was serious enough that it came to the attention of people outside PF.

Please only post links to software that anyone is allowed to download, is legitimate/not hacked, etc. In other words, if someone or some company would not be happy about it, do not bother posting it. This is simply using common sense as judgement (that is not leveled at you Gerry or implying anything about you).

Thanks for the apology - I know more than just myself appreciates your actions on this one...

Regards,
Marc

I was hoping you'd settle for a UNIVAC track tape, but floppies will do nicely.

Joking aside, can anyone tell me why so many people have asked for a copy of PPL 4? Does it have any innovative functions, or is it just curiosity?

How about a 300 baud acoustic modem? Are you in?
