Mixing K-7 and AVCHD video

Has anyone tried mixing K7 video files with AVCHD 1920/1080/25 files made by a HD camcorder?

I have Studio 12 and Sony Vegas.
I've tried to get Ixus 75 video into DV video in the past in Studio 9 but that failed due to differences in frequency.
The Canon records in 30 fps and European camcorders work with PAL 25 fps.
Converting the 30 fps to 25 fps did make it very flickerary.
I guess one option is to first convert the K-7 video into AVCHD 1080/25. Free Video Converter might be an option for this, but I don't have a K-7 to try....
