Colours strange in Firefox

I have found that when using Mozilla Firefox, some images in the gallery is looking very dark and contrasty. With Opera there is no problem, the image looks the same as copying it and opening it in Photoshop.

Can the Firefox issue be changed in the menu, or should I just start using Opera instead.

Also, when I post images myself, could I use any colour profile that makes Firefox users see them OK?

Best regards,
Haakan

I am a long time Opera user myself as well. However seeing that you are from Sweden I thought you would be using Opera out of national pride

As far as I know the newest version of Firefox has a bug with oversaturated colors. Perhaps that is what you are seeing right now?

Thanks you, that could be the explanation. I have not used Opera before, but I actually liked it, so I will stick with it.

So now the only question is if I can find a way to change the color profile of my posted images so that Firefox users will not think I have gone totally out of my mind with my post processing

I will do some trials with different profiles.

Best regards,
Haakan

Possible colour management problem ?
Firefox has colour management, but IIRC it is not enabled by default.
An example of a picture that has this problem would be helpful.
BTW did you try to save the image to disk and then open it in photoshop ? Copying the image from the browser does not carry over the colour profile information etc.

Thank you for your support.
This is a link to an image I have posted myself.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/gallery/images/7704/1_Vickers_Creek_Compressed.jpg

It looks OK when I processed it in Photoshop, but then when I used Firefox on the link it really looks bad. On the other hand, when opened in Opera it again looks OK (or at least how it looked for me in Photoshop )

Best regards,

I did look around, and found that, as MrApollinax said, there seems to be a bug in Firefox

Firefox 3.5 jpeg images are too dark • mozillaZine Forums

I used Firefox and opened some different images on my computer, and if I save them with a colour profile, Firefox messes them up. If I remove the colour profile before saving, then they turn up decent in Firefox. So it seems as the bug has to do with how Firefox interpret the colour profile.

Best regards,
Haakan

I did try the colour management settings in Firefox, that did not do any difference.

I will try the tip to see if I can find an old profile for my monitor, if I can not get it to work, I will stick to Opera.

Thank you all for you taking time to help.
