Indispensable. Postprocessing with uncalibrated monitor is a waste of time. In fact, I just profile my printer too.

Indispensable!!!

I print at a Costco store, ordering online, then picking it up in person. Not calibrating my monitor played havoc with getting prints that were too dark or too light or had off colors.

I print and frame for a tourist shop, and it seemed to matter to the customers :-)
