Just remember your ouput medium though. Most labs only accept sRGB and most web viewers use shitty TN panels. On my IPS panel my images look GARISH and overblown (intentional as i am compensating), but when i view on fam, ily, friends and work mates elcheapo panels they look fine.

'tis tough.
Hmmm, that hasn't been my experience, but I calibrate my monitors. All my images look pretty much the same on my IPS as on my calibrated TN and my (cheap) lab prints. I haven't even noticed a big difference on uncalibrated TN panels in my laptops or work monitor.

My wide gamut 240PW9 displays everything oversaturated with any non-colour profile aware applications, including the latest IE & FF. Photoshop, Lightroom & Acdsee Pro 2.5 are fine. However, there is a bug with the Acdsee where the slide show is not colour corrected and now pretty much useless.

In terms of browsers, it might be worth backing up to FF 3.0 (that works with all color profiles) rather than FF 3.5, which is limited in its handling of color profiles.

I've also thought about trying Safari, which supposedly works with all profiles, and I am currently using Flock, which is just a port of FF 3.0, and has been working wonderfully for me.

Well, I ordered an NEC EA231WMi 23 inch E-IPS display from Dell small business. 1920x1080 screen. Price with the soon expiring 20% off code was 331.00, plus tax for a total of 350.00 shipped. I've never purchased a new untested model before, but what the heck, you only live once. It is an NEC. When will they actually have stock? Who knows, but I'll wait. I hope it's as good as my old 20 inch IPS based Dell.

Nice price. Be sure to report back when you get it. I'm thinking of getting this one as well since Samsung has apparently lost their 2370L (LED backlight version of 2370)...

I suggest to look at LG 32" FHD TVs.
They have 10bit S-IPS panels and two 10 point ISF calibration profiles.
Two brighness controls - backlight and using matrix.
Support Wide Color Gamut.

Well, I've had this monitor for a few days now and have run it through the paces. No pixel problems. No backlight bleed. No color uniformity problems. No graininess that I can see. Very good black level. Viewing angles are superb. A slight amount of luminescence at angle, but not bad considering this is inherent to lcd technology. Nothing at all compared to my Dell 2005fpw. Some on hard forum report that tint changes from left to right, but not mine. I guess I got a good copy in the lcd crapshoot arena. The only negative would be the crappy built in speakers. The eco system seems a bit hoaky to me with the auto brightness and such. I turned this feature off and set my own brightness and contrast levels to my tastes.

I really like this panel. No, it's not perfect, but what is? For the money, it might be one of the best ips panels out there. At full 1080p 16/9, it works great viewing a dvd. At 1920 x 1080, it's also great for photo editing. At less that 400 bucks, it's a good buy.
