There's no recoverable data in the blown out highlights of a JPG, so if you shot JPG you'd have to do what Flockofbirds and GerryL have done - re-create the missing areas with Photoshop.

If you shot RAW, you might want to bring those files into Lightroom and the slide the Recovery slider all the way to 100. And cross your fingers.

Indeed thanks for all the suggestions ....Sorry flockofbird that BW work of yours is very good indeed, and GerryL that is also a great save - you guys have inspired me to give it a go. (I have lots of good shots from that day and only about 4 or 5 have this issue so onward we go)

There is not oppertunity for a reshoot - at least not for a while , but yes that would be the eaisest for sure.

Thanks again PS is a powerfull tool indeed I just need some pratice (and well a course or two which I will rectify soon).

Utilize the band-aid tool, and clone stamping.

I also painted with a hard (maybe 80%) round brush on the letters. Zooming way in for precision. On the letters.
