Hello,

If I wanted to change the colour temperature on 150 RAW images and resave (in photoshop CS3), is there way to do so as a batch job?

many thanks

I know you can do it in Lightroom 2...but not sure of any other apps.

You can do this with Adobe Camera Raw, which is a plugin available for PS CS3. You can adjust the colour temp and then save changed without actually opening the files in Photoshop itself.

In Silkypix, after you adjusted one RAW, you can right click on it, and select Copy Development Parameters. Then you'd use Ctrl-A to select all the RAWs, right click, select Paste Partial Development Parameters and tick "White Balance" (colour temp) and/or "White Balance Adjustment" (colour deflection) from the large list of parameters that can be pasted.

I thought other RAW converters (except for the basic type) would provide this level of functionality.

Dan.

In CS3:
Click File, then Browse.
This opens Bridge. With bridge, navigate to the directory you want to alter.
Click Edit and Select all (In Bridge).
Click File and Open in Camera Raw.
In Camera Raw, click Select all and adjust the colour temperature.
Click Save Images and decide where you want to save them. Unless you want to duplicate them, just save them to the same location.
Click Done and let it chew away at the job.

Note if you shoot RAW, it isn't actually necessary to save them at all, and even if you do, you aren't actually saving your changes in RAW format. Camera Raw automatically saves the settings you used, and that's all that matters. An expicit save operation is needed only to convert to a *different* (non-RAW) format, and indeed, that's the only thing you *can* save as far as I know

Mark,
Reading what you just wrote here suddenly flashed a question in my head, regarding RAW "same file save" ...
I'll explain what I am trying to get at:

I have one RAW image.
I want to have two duplicates of that same image, always in RAW.
Duplicate No.1 ... adjusted with a lighter exposure.
Duplicate No.2 ... adjusted with a darker exposure.

How would I save the original image and both duplicates, after adjustments, always as RAW files, so they all can be stored in a specific folder?
Edit: I forgot to say that I can use both Pentax Camera Util 4 and/or ACR.

Edtit No.2: I reposted this question in a new thread.

Any help would be welcome!

JP
