Quicktime Pro does a good job. Open Image Sequence then save as movie.

I feel so animated

When I first got PaintShopPro 9 a few years ago, it included Animation Shop 3. You can use it to build AVIs or MPGs or animated GIFs from sets of JPGs or other stills. You can also feed it an MPG and have it extract and save selected or all frames as JPGs. I find it very useful for time-lapse dispays.

most video editors will let you put still shots in and add a sound track

I use pinnacle studio

I agree - Picasa is pretty good - just move the photo's into an album/folder and create a movie presentation.
You could also do it in windows movie maker (free)

It's far from free, but my version (CS3) of Photoshop will do it, using the "Animation" palette.

Lots of options here, including a few Adobe products (Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, After Effects), Picasa, Windows Movie Maker, and dozens of free, shareware, and commercial slideshow makers.

Mac, PC, or Linux?
