[SOLD] Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 HSM OS + Filter (Worldwide)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 HSM OS + Filter

Asking Price
$450 for lens and filter, or $415 for lens only

Item Location
Colstrip, MT USA

Item Description
Yes, this truly is the brand new Sigma 1/2.8-4 OS HSM lens! I bought this from Stryker Digital Inc. a month ago for $449. I used it once but haven't used it since because I am upgrading to the Pentax DA* 16-50mm lens. So, this lens is essentially new. There are no scratches, marks, etc.

I'm selling with the Hoya multi coated 72mm filter (which I bought specifically for this lens for $40 from Adorama, so this is new too).

The OS on this lens really works. Macro shots are crisp. I could not believe how fast this lens focuses compared to the kit lens! This is a beauty alright. I hate to part with it, but I don't have the money to own this and the 16-50.

You get three year Sigma warranty with this lens. Any questions pm me.

I'll ship anywhere in the US for $5 or Canada for $15. Other countries I'll ship to as well, pm for shipping price.

Man this is seriously tempting. I've heard great things about this lens. But I guess I'll have to wait for some more money because its a bit too much for me. Plus I live in the UK so I have to take into account postage and time it takes getting here. Oh well. Good lens though why selling it?

Yep, I'm interested in this lens too! It's been used once, so I'm wondering why you would want to sell it?

EDIT: Besides saving up for the DA*

I have the same lens and am loving it so far. At least we have not heard of any HSM issues yet (unlike the notorious SDM).

Positives: A lot cheaper than the DA* 16-50 and no HSM issues. Longer reach. Can be used with SR turned off.
Negatives: May not be as sharp as DA* 16-50.

Just for your info, I can ship Priority to the UK for $30 or Express for $35.

My only reason for selling is the DA*. If it weren't for that, there's no way I'd sell this lens... Then my plan is to get the DA* 50-135 to complete the range, sometime.
I know, I kind of think I'm crazy myself for selling it...
Seriously though, the factors that push me over to the side of the DA* 16-50 is the f/2.8 throughout the zoom range, better quality optics, and the WR.

Yes, you are exactly right! From what I've heard, I think that the HSM isn't quite as quiet as SDM, but that's probably only by a margin.

LOL Yeah, I'm tempted to get the DA*s... BOTH of those and maybe even the 60-250mm!

I just don't have enough money to afford both. So I have to settle for a little... less. Still good though. Yeah... 2.8 throughout is really good. I'm really just looking for zoom range though. WR doesn't matter on my K-X !

Budget, budget. It's always a problem! Speaking of though, I was pleasantly surprised when I received my K7 that I get a $100 discount on the DA* 16-50!!!

hmmm... tempting. May want to sell the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 for this. I like the range -- I'm just worried it may not be as sharp.

I'm not sure whether your Tamron would be sharper or not... It'd be interesting to know. Maybe a google search would provide a little better idea.
