[SOLD] Phoenix AF 100mm f3.5 Macro (US) Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Phoenix AF 100mm f3.5 Macro

Asking Price
145 (personal paypal. Otherwise, buyer pays 3% fees. )

Item Location
Salt Lake City, UT

Item Description
1. Phoenix AF 100mm f3.5 Macro Lens (likely made by Cosina)
2. 1:1 Matched Adapter (allows you to achieve 1:1 macro)
3. Original Front Cap and Generic Rear Cap

No original packaging.

Condition: I would say Excellent ++. You might disagree, so please see the attached photos. You may be able to see light marks on the body. But no dents. Glass very clean, almost no visible dust inside. Aperture opens and closes freely and no oil on the aperture. Works as it should.

This lens has been branded for many other companies including Pentax, even though the Pentax version might have different coating and electronic components.

Works well on Pentax digital cameras such as K10D and K-x.

Reviews: You can find many reviews online about this lens. Here are some. Third-Party Lens Review Database - Cosina 100mm F1:3,5 MC Makro Lens Reviews

Pentax Lens Review Database - SMC Pentax-FA 100mm F3.5 Macro Lens Reviews

Comments: I like this lens a lot. Lightweight and very versatile (often in my travel bag). Even though the built quality is not the best, I have yet broken a lens.

I prefer the color rending on this macro lens than my Sigma 105mm which tends to be a bit cooler to my taste. The color rendering is quite resemblant of Pentax SMC lenses.

I have to say that the Macro resolution is ever so slightly lower than my Sigma 105mm, my Kiron made Vivitar 105mm and my DFA 50mm. But it fares better than my Kiron Macro for non-macro use (personal opinion). I only use it about 30% of the time as a macro lens.

Perhaps one of the most affordable macro lenses on the market. Image quality at f3.5 is fantastic to say the least (see attached 100% crop).

BTW. I am keeping my Promaster version of this lens. My Promaster copy is in a much less desirable condition.

The last photo was taken at f3.5 as 100% crop.
