Item Description
This is a fabulous lens. I bought it and found I do not use it frequently, and also feel it is a little heavy for me. It is one of high quality Pentax DA star series lens and will guarantee to record your wonderful moment. I want to mention the awesome tripod mount which is very convenient to use, even if you want to hold it by hand. The lens is in mint condition without any problem. SDM micromotor works fine as expected. Focusing is quietly and quickly. Glass is very clean, blemish free, no dust, oil etc inside. Aperture is very smooth. It will come with original both caps, hood, box, original soft case (not pictured), as well as original receipt from authorized US dealer dated on January, 2010, so you still have some warranty.

I've got a DA-300 like this, i don't use it a lot either, but i find there are situations where i need it to go long to get the scene. Its got great bokeh for woodsy scenes or close-ups. I use it with a 1.4 Tamron SDM TC, which are available occasionally on this market place or ebay. Plenty sharp by itself or with the 1.4

Weights 34 oz, which is the heaviest i would want to carry up a hill. Go for it is my advice.

This is probably a dumb question, but is the aperture supposed to look like that? On my lenses it looks more or less like a circle when stopped down, yours look more like a half circle.

If you look closely, I think what you're seeing is a reflection that is covering half of the open aperture.

Also, I'd just like to add that I used to own this lens and the IQ is truly amazing.
