[SOLD] DA 18-55mm WR, Voigtlander SLII 20mm/3.5 (Worldwide)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Voigtlander SLII 20/3.5

Asking Price
440 for Voigtländer

Item Location
Portland, OR, USA

Item Description

The Voigtlander SL II Color-Skopar 20mm/3.5 lens was just bought from forum member Kuau. Link here:
I removed the link because the forum tools bring in the thread title, making this lens look like it was already sold, but it isn't sold yet.
More info here:
Voigtlander SL II Lenses
Comes with box. Works like an A lens. MF only.

I shot 36 exposures of film and probably 36 digital photos too. I'm selling because I much prefer AF on AF bodies. In truth, hyperfocal on this lens covers a whole lot of ground due to the wide angle, but I've given it a shot and I think I'd prefer AF.

The 18-55 WR still should have come with box and papers. Its still not a big deal.

Hi Blue, thanks for responding.

I bought a K-7 with WR lens too. And I know that it doesn't come with its own box from first hand experience. It may come with some papers, but I don't got em.

Here are some sample photos from the 20mm. I used BW400CN and scanned the negatives, so this isn't great for color reproduction but should give an idea of FOV. These aren't high art.

Obviously pixel peeping BW400CN isn't going to get you anywhere.

I'm sorry I don't have digital output yet. But I can point you to flickr to see for yourself. This is a desirable and well made lens.

Some of these cameras have different crop factors. The lens is designed for full frame, has an A setting on the aperture ring, and works great on my Super Program and on my digital bodies.

Check out this Flickr set comparing the Voigtlander to a Sigma 12-24 on a 5D:
Voigtlander 20mm vs. Sigma 12-24mm - a set on Flickr

The results speak for themselves. Center sharpness and contrast easily goes to the Voigtlander. Corner sharpness slightly favors the gigantic Sigma.

Many reviewers note the flare resistance of this lens. For example, check out the sun in this photo:
Tough Lighting on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

These photos are of other people's lenses on other people's bodies.

Also remember, I'm selling because I'm a demented LBA junkie, and I have no particular animus against the performance of this lens.

Great CV20 lens still up for grabs.

The 18-55WR is fun, too. I'll take reasonable offers on either.

I've made a "lens hood" out of two UV filters stacked together, with the UV elements removed. It doesn't cause vignetting on digital, but I wouldn't use it on FF because this lens is ultra wide on full frame.

This lens hood is included in the sale.

Here are a couple digital samples from a K-x. Both at ƒ/8. My wife took the library shot so focus isn't ideal, but it is plenty sharp on the shirt!

Minimal processing.

Thanks for the feedback Nick!

Here is a german video showing the correct pronunciations for Zeiss and Voigtländer. And comparing the 20/3.5 to the Zeiss 21/2.8.
Voigtlander Color Skopar 20mm/3.5 SL-II Pancake compared to Zeiss Distagon T* 21mm/2.8 ZE Mike Kobal
"I keep the Zeiss around for crucial work but 9 out of 10 times I grab the Voigtlander because of its tiny form factor."
