Pentax ZX-30 body with extras - Works great! - (eBay item 200146193760 end time Sep-02-07 08:40:33 PDT)

For sale is a used Pentax ZX-30. It has a few small scuffs and scratches on the body and the bottom plate, but nothing serious and nothing that affects functionality. It comes with a plain white body cap, the manual, and your choice of a camera strap. I'm asking for $25 shipped via USPS Priority with delivery confirmation. I'll take Paypal or money order.

I have a couple references from here at the forum and several on eBay.

This camera has a krippled mount so it supports aperture controls on the body. I recently mounted my DA 40mm on it and shot a roll of Fuji Superia with the camera set to Av and autofocus. The pictures came out great, although I thought the scans that mpix did weren't that great.

The camera is a bit bigger than an ME Super in all dimensions, but it's much lighter and more ergonomic. It's shorter and thinner than the *ist DL, but slightly wider. Of the three cameras compared below, it's the lightest.

The camera:

For comparison (DA 40mm not included ):

The DA 40 is designed for digital, but it works great on film bodies that have aperture control support. From what I've read, the design is based off the original 40mm pancake lens so the lens still covers a full film frame. My sample pictures are resized with no cropping so you can see that there's no vignetting (or at least I don't notice any ).

hmmm... has anyone tried the 18-55mm on a film body? The only film body I have is the ME Super and it has no aperture control.

I've done some shooting with my ME super and DA16-45. If I remember correctly it was doing pretty good even at 20mm. At 16mm it had clear dark corners.

The 18-55mm vignettes heavily. Just mount it on your ME Super and look through the viewfinder.

I have the zx-30. It is a nice film camera that takes exceptional photos.
Very easy to use.
I have tried placing my 18-55 on my zx-30 however, and the camera flat out rejects it because of the lack of an aperature ring...shutter won't release, just like if you try to put a pre-A lens on it.

One more thing. $25 is a screamin deal for this body. Somebody should pick it up as a backup at the very least.

I agree that it's a steal! I can't go any lower than $25 shipped because shipping to the East Coast alone is $8 in addition to the Paypal fees.

I've put this camera up on eBay:
