Price reduced on the 105mm SMC Tak to $89 plus shipping. A few sample shots are shown below, snapshots from the 4th of July.

A gentle bump for the SMC 105mm f/2.8 Tak. Note that the Super-Tak versions have been selling for $120-130 on the 'bay, and an SMC version recently went for $150.

Well, for those interested in the Fish Eye Tak story, Eric was able to clean out the fungus, that had been "on almost every element". He is my hero. In now looks perfectly clear, seems a little sharper, and contrast is definitely better in the sun. It's still superfluous in my collection, though, so I guess I will continue to offer it for sale. I have raised the price, but only by the $60 I spent getting it cleaned. Let me know if interested! Thanks, Nick

ps a few sample shots. 1st with Y2 filter, 3rd with O2 filter:

No doubt about Eric...Is there anything he can't do?!
But Nick, I'm disappointed, I was hoping that if it was "fixable", you'd fall in love with it all over again!
Anyway, it's quite a rare collectable, as well as a user item these days, so I'm sure it will find a new happy home shortly, particularly as you have the later SMC version.
I actually bought one a few months ago, have taken a couple of test shots, haven't had them processed yet, but just looking through the viewfinder with this lens attached is exciting.
Cheers, Pickles.

Thanks for your kind words, Pickles. And I am awfully fond of this lens. But I have the A 16mm fish eye as well, and can't bring myself to let it go despite its larger size and weight. And I wasn't planning on keeping 2 fish eye lenses... we'll see, sometimes even the best plans go astray! Nick

Unemployed, but I would kill for the 17 at that price.

Am I allowed to propose a swap here for a 400 Vivitar 5.6?
