I have the K02 which is similar enough only without the very handy "A" setting. I haven't shot so much with it (deluged in choices!) but maybe if you provided some shots with the lens it would fly out of your hands?

Thanks for the suggestion, Robin. I'll post some pics soon--maybe not today, though, cause I have to drive some relatives around town. I hope you won't mind if in the meantime I direct viewers to your findings on the K02 version, which is similar to the A03, except that it doesn't have the 'A' setting.

Below, a little test I did two days ago trying (once again) to decide whether I should keep this lens. (The K01 I recently purchased is a bit sharper at f2.8, but without the 'A' setting, bigger and very heavy for a prime--almost as heavy as a 28-70mm Vivitar zoom.) In order: f2.8, f5.6, f8. (I know... f3.5 would have been more useful... Now it's pouring outside.) 100% crops, shot in raw, developed in Silkypix at default parameters (no contrast or sharpness added). Next week I'll post some more casual pics.

Close focus versions in KA mount went for that price? Well, you should have bought one then. Or are you perhaps confusing this lens with one of the many other variants that are worth less?
