[SOLD] Tamron adaptall 80-200mmf2.8 + PKA (US)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Tamron adaptall 80-200mmf2.8 + PKA

Asking Price
$330.00 Lowered, free shipping

Item Location
MD, USA

Item Description
Up for sale is my tamron SP80-200mm f2.8 zoom lens with adaptall PKA adapter. I sent this lens to metro camera in NYC 2 years ago to have it cleaned and they "overhauled zoom housing and helicoids, set and cleaned inner lenses. adjusted flange back and image" This was the shop Tamron recommended so optically it should be fine for a long time. I didn't use it much since it was serviced, especially after I got the DA300mm as I was mostly taking wildlife pics. There are a few marks on the body where the lens hood bayonette mount is from mounting the hood and the hood has a couple of small dings but nothing major also a couple scratches on the tripod foot. Please don't ask me to sell the PKA separate as I really want them to be sold together(that is why I'm not putting it on ebay as I usually do and posting here). I am selling to get a wide lens for my canon. The lens elements are clean and clear, aperture is clean and snappy and optically excellent. I listed condition as "good" just because of the amount of brassing around the hood connection. SN 80591 as with most lenses from the film era, some PF wide open in high contrast areas but beautiful bokeh for a zoom (really)

Too bad I got one already - I would have liked to get this combo with the adapter. This is a very sharp lens usable wide open at 2.8. PF is well controlled. A classic zoom. Heavy but still handholdable.

Compared to the AD-2 SP 70-210/3.5 (19AH) this lens is about 1/3rd larger and heavier but the image quality is noticeably better when you press the the speed or focal length envelop below f 5.6. Works very well with both the 140F or PZ-AF 1.4X TCs to give you a solid 300mm/f4 capability. If you're considering an AF 70-200/2.8 and can live without the auto-focus function this lens won't disappoint you.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with the seller for this sale. But here is a quote from me in adaptall-2 mount discussions in lens forum
I recently discussed my 30A lens with the readers of my blog as "son of the gun" lens as it quite a macho lens to own

First a picture of my setup. I bought a cheapo Dolica monopod and I had purchased also a Manfrotto 3229 and the combo seems to help me to make better use of my

Tamron SP 80-200mm f/2.8 adaptall-2 (30A)

I did the shooting on not-so-nice noon setting when the bunnies preferred to hide in the shadows. But I did get some shots with the 30A

The monopod does help in the shooting as I find myself with stability that I don't have before and I feel easier and more confident in the shooting.

Thanks,
Hin

Those are nice Hinman
I've always loved the bokeh from that lens.

sale is pending ( I may be sorry, but need the dough for a 24-105mm f4 )

I used this lens in my blog post Licking One's Lens. Really? What! to ridicule my Nikon's friend. Yes, it is heavy but what good 70-200mm f/2.8 is not heavy over 3+ pounder. Its bokeh and color has qualities that is very close, I hope, to be rivaled by the AF equivalent in the 3rd party lens category. And yet its price is about 1/3 of the AF latest. I can be wrong, but I am keeping this instead of buying Canikon versions of the similar. I will only buy the Canon 70-200mm f/4.0 without IS as I love the compromise in size and form factor, and its qualities in wide open aperture.
