It is both. I won't leave entirely. I still have Pentax 645N and Pentax MX. When you see my DA* and F* out in marketplace, that is the time that I am out of Pentax digital completely. I will be around, don't worry and get upset. And you all please don't kick me at the exit doorway.

I have placed the photosniper on hold as I want to find out if T-mount can be adapted and used in Nikon. I know it can be used in Canon but I am not so sure on Nikon on metering and MF. If you have Nikon AI mount knowledge and that if a T-mount can be adapted to AI mount, please share your knowledge with me as I love to keep this lens more so than selling. But an un-mountable lens will not have a good place in my gear, please help me confirm.

Thanks,
Hin

Lens is sale pending, I have marked it as sold already. This is perhaps the best lens to get as Pentax doesn't have any long lens with 'A' setting to consider. Unlike a 300mm, this lens can be hand-holdable. Of course, best use is with a mono-pod. It will take some time to like it. But both Miserere, author of EnticingTheLight, and myself love this lens for ease of handling. The only gripe I have is on the short focusing ring. It has pluses for quick reaction to bird but there are cases that I like more precision in playing with the focus.

I have made the lens available with local interest that I can arrange to show how the lens can be used properly. Unfortunately, I may have problems in mounting it on a tripod as I need a 3/8" to 1/4" tripod nut converter. I will have a demo time and location open to interested buyer. This is an amazing piece of glass and I want to make sure the buyers know how to use it successfully. It is awesome in color and bokeh. At wide open aperture, the blades open wider than f/4.5.

1/100 sec, f/--, 300mm, iso 250, +0.3 Ev, K20D, hand-held

The shot is under the shadow and I should have used faster shutter to stop the wing. And I try to go as low ISO as possible. I don't remember the aperture that I use. It is likely wide open as the hummingbird comes and go as a ghost. It is extremely difficult shot to made on this long lens. When someone mount this lens on a K20D, you will know this is NOT the easy lens for anyone. The key strength in this beast is on the focusing knob, that is a circular knob under the lens as if you are holding a gun and focus.

I have just packaged up the Tokina SD 400mm f/5.6 ready to ship in the morning. Miserere and Dave H. may go about to pick on me later on as we all raved about this lens when we got them about the same time. My boys are checking my blue jay picture and they just asked me why I have to sell the lens. And the baffling do run deep in my answer. You can't trust review in PF lens review. Some people have no clues what they fuss about. This is quite a good lens to have. The lens is tiny for a 400mm and the above test shots were all done hand-held.

I have made the Photosniper available and I hope the member who showed interest from San Jose can come back to it. It is another gem but the Tokina is way easier to use and much more portable. I personally like the Photosniper more as you don't see a sharper lens and with great color and bokeh for a 300mm. Color and contrast is better in the Photosniper.

Thanks,
Hin

Photosniper is sale pending to tbandopadhyay and here is the local meet-up information in Fremont on Saturday

If any have an interest in my other Sale Items in my Pentax gear, please let me know and I will bring as requested to the meeting and I will tell you ahead of time my pricing. I mark it as sale pending in my blog page. Those that I marked as "sale pending last" are the last stage of my selling and they are not yet ready to be committed for sale at this moment.

Thanks,
Hin
