[SOLD] Two Pentax AF-360FGZ flashes, broken/missing hot shoes (Worldwide)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Two Pentax AF-360FGZ flashes, broken/missing hot shoes

Asking Price
US $70 each, lowerered to US $60 based on news from 1st purchaser New price, US $55

Item Location
Tampa, FL

Item Description
Well, except for the fact that both flashes have had their shoes broken off, everything's fine

All wireless P-TTL and wireless manual functionality is intact. Power zoom works on both units. Wide angle diffuser and bounce flash panel intact and working on both units.

One flash looks like previous owner attempted to repair with glue and the dried glue is still present around the broken portion of the flash. That same flash has some velcro around the flash head to mount flash modifiers.

Both flashes are broken in same manner. the hot shoes have pulled out of the mounting shaft, breaking parts of the shaft in the process. Looks like the bottom plate that includes the mounting shaft is held in place with 4 small screws. According to this post ( Broken 360 flash - Photo.net Pentax Forum ), this part can be ordered from Pentax for $30 (a later post in that thread says $50), so you could have a fully functional 360 for $100 (or $120) or figure out a way to secure the flash as is to a stand and have full wireless capability for $70.

In the photo above, camera and flashes were in wireless P-TTL mode. The "Flash in wireless mode" setup option was set to Off so only the two 360's lit the subject. Flash to camera left was set to 1/1 while the flash to camera right was set to 1/3.

Looks like US Camera has the necessary replacement parts. There are two, the flash shoe case and the foot itself:
Flash Shoe Case, $9.44
Flash Shoe Foot, $9.71
plus shipping.

Not sure about the wiring.

UPDATE - Purchaser of the first of these two flashes bought the two items listed above and has reported back that the two items don't include all necessary parts. Missing some metal interface that connects to the camera (not sure exactly what this means, perhaps the electrical contacts?) and the twisting lever that activates the locking pin. He's going to check back with the parts supplier to see if those are available, but for now all I can state is that the flash has full wireless functionality (both wireless P-TTL and manual wireless).

The flash without the glue and velcro is pending. The other unit remains available.

Purchaser of the first of these two flashes bought the two replacement parts listed in my earlier post above and has reported back that the two items don't include all necessary parts. Because of this, I've lowered the price of the remaining unit by $10. Price noted in original post.

Thanks

What is still avail?

The flash with the Velcro is still avail? Can this be fire wireless? Or is this mainly for parts?

If this can be fire wirelessly I may be able to use it. What do I need? Is the price now $10?

I think you're confusing "lowered by" with "lowered to."

Sorry for any confusion, let me clarify.

There is one flash available, the one with the velcro attached for light modifiers. It's priced at $60. It can fire wireless in SL1 (P-TTL) or SL2 (manual, optical slave) mode. You may be able to order the parts necessary to completely repair this flash to full functionality (i.e. camera mounted P-TTL), but there are no guarantees and the person who bought the first flash was unable to do so, at least with the two replacement parts that I linked to earlier.

Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions.

Further price drop. New price in original post.

Don't make me keep this one :-) It's tempting as I already have a 540, so I would only really need this in wireless mode.
