Up for sale, a Tamron AF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 LD Macro 1:2 (model 572D) in excellent condition.

Includes the following:
Lens
Tamron front/rear caps
Lens Hood
Tiffen 62mm Sky 1-A filter
Lens Cap Leash

Optics, mechanics and cosmetics all excellent.

Pros:
Sharper than I expected
Autofocus was spot on
Very useful macro mode (1:2). Macro/close focusing available with flip of switch between 180-300mm.
Decent build quality
No zoom creep
Nice weight for it's size. Not too light, not too heavy.

Cons:
Front of lens rotates during focusing. Not good for graduated filters. Also makes taking hood off from storage position an adventure.
Images need a bit of contrast adjustment, imo. Simple adjustment in pp.

1:2 macro at closest focusing distance. 300mm @ f/8, iso400, 1/90, K20D

Closest focusing when not in macro mode. 300mm @f/5.6, iso400, 1/125

180mm @f/5.6, iso400, 1/125

70mm @f/5.6, iso400, 1/125

I have that same lens and they are really decent for the prices they go for, especially to cut your teeth on macro. I would certainly snag this over a similar manual focus lens. Good luck!
