The Department of Redundancy Department has decided to thin the herd, and so this lovely DA*16-50 lens is the first candidate for the auction block. I've got a lot of overlap and I'm looking to simplify things a bit. This lens has done nothing but take up space in my bag lately, and it deserves a good home!
A bit of history: This DA*16-50 is actually a replacement for the same lens which I'd originally purchased along with my K10D. Well, that first 16-50 had a decentering problem and I sent it in to Pentax under warranty. They did not even so much as refurbish it, but instead sent me a completely different serial number lens, brand new! That replacement lens is the one for sale here. It has performed flawlessly, the image quality has been excellent, and there hasn't even been a hint of any SDM problem. (I have experienced SDM failure on a DA*50-135, so I am familiar with the symptoms- meanwhile the 16-50 has held up like a champ!)
This lens has worn a Hoya Pro 1 clear protection filter since day one, which is included. (Approximately a $50 value.) It comes in the original box, and also includes the soft lens pouch and original papers, owners manual, etc. This lens is in
excellent condition. (See photos.)
EDIT: I did my best with the photos of this lens, but in case there is any question, this lens has no scratches, marks, fungus, or dust. It has been very well cared for.
I'll try to attach a few links to some shots on Flickr, taken with this lens; keep in mind that these have been resized for the web, but hopefully they'll be a good representation.
I would prefer to sell within the continental U.S. only because shipping out of the country is sometimes a headache. Shipping within the Con-US is free but anywhere else will be additional. Thanks for looking!
