Cosinon 40mm f/2.5 is sold.

And here are few test shots from the Tamron 60-300mm adaptall-2 23A

1/125 sec, f/5.0, 200mm, iso 1600, +0.3 Ev, k20d

1/80 sec, f/6.3, 250mm, iso 1600, k20d, shot through glass door

1/100 sec, f/5.6, 250mm, iso 250, k20d

Unfortunately, I don't have a close up test shot to show, it has 1:1.55 life ratio. If you are a adaptall-2 fan, you know this zoom is well priced for sale. And it comes with the original lens hood.

Thanks,
Hin

Just received this Cosinon 40mm/2.5 and it's in a condition much better than I expected for. Thanks, Hin.

These Adapt-all lenses looks so tempting too, somebody please take it to quench my LBA.

want to buy 60-300, need advice on adapter

Hi, I'm new here and can't seem to see where the PM button is, so I'll try this. I'd like the 60-300 lens, but don't know anything about the adapter. I see one for sale on ebay that says Tamron Adaptall 2 lens to Pentax PK mount camera bodies. Is that what I would be looking for? If not, can you tell me where to buy the adapter?
Thanks, Jim

Thanks for your inquiry, the adaptall-2 lens provided here needs either a Tamron adaptall-2 PK or Tamron adaptall-2 P/KA adapter. The PK adapter will allow you to mount the adaptall lens similar to Pentax K or M lens, the price runs about $25 to $40. You need to use M mode and use green button to stop-down for metering.

The PK-A adapter is much preferred since it allows you to use AE (auto exposure) mode similar to a Pentax A lens. . It is unfortunately priced higher as in $80 to $120 subject to condition.

Here is a picture of the P/KA adapter

More in my blog post:
A note of caution to buyers with interest
Though I like to sell my LBA excess lens, I won't recommend the 23A lens highly to beginning users looking for an inexpensive zoom lens. Though the 23A is an above average performer and has a good range, the lens is harder to use due to its weight and long length. And the need of an adapter adds to the cost of ownership. If you already have a PK or P/K-A adapter, that will be a different story. One advantage of adaptall-2 lens is that the lens can be adapted to another system such as Canon, Nikon or Olympus with a different adapter.

Thanks,
Hin

Tamron SP 60-300mm adaptall-2 (23A) is sold. It is great to find a matching buyer with prior adaptall experience.

---------- Post added 03-09-11 at 08:20 PM ----------

I added test pictures for the bargain zoom with Tamron 85-210mm f/4.5 z210.

Test pictures on sheep

  • The zoom lens is a bargain and in good condition
  • cosmetic is almost like a new lens.
  • It is not too heavy and large, it has 2-touch zoom design
  • I like the handling and ease of use of the lens
  • Performance is average and the lens needs stop down to f/8 or more to get better sharpness
  • It is a pre-adaptall-2 lens that goes with adaptall m42 adapter. It has a A/M switch. adapter not provided in the sale
  • The test shots were done with the P/K-A adapter

Thanks,
Hin

Out of the four items for sale, my personal favorite is Tamron 70-150mm f/3.5 adaptall (20A). I like it especially on its smaller size and quick handling in street shooting.

It is a small zoom that I like to use for street shooting and on portraits. It has a good decent close up of 1:3.

The Tamron 85-210mm f/4.5 is a free lens for shipping only. And I may withdraw the 20A small zoom if no one shows interest.

Thanks,
Hin
