I sold this once, and it was returned. It seems the front edial does not work properly on the K-5. I never used the front edial on the grip, so I don't know if the same issue arises on the K-7. By the time I got this back, my K-7 was gone. As a buyer, just assume it doesn't work. The rest works as it should. There is only one battery tray that it comes with, and it is the one for the K-7/K-5 LiIons. Comes with two generic batteries for it.
