It is always sad to think of someone going over to the dark side. I had a friend that used to be a huge Pentax user back in the film days. He decided to get back into photography after a lengthy break (3 kids long - ha ha). Perhaps it was a few colourful magazine ads, or the lure of something promised, he sold off all his old Pentax gear and went over to Connon. He laid our some serious money, made excuses for the lack of backwards compatibility, and soldiered on. After 2 years of banging his head against the wall (and sending the Cannon camera away several times) he called it quits. He came back to Pentax. I just hope you are making a wise decission. Type in the name of the Cannon camera you are considering in goggle followed by the words problems.

if i were to switch platforms, i'd go with nikon and the d300. but in reality i would wait... pentax will have a new body that will be better than anything else on the market. just like they did with the k10d.

If you do decide to do the unthinkable and go Canon, then I would be interested in you Tamron 28-75mm.
Please let me know, cheers.

If you were shootin' hockey, I might understand but baseball? The players are just standing there!

Ah do what you must but 1.5-2K can't nearly cover cost of canon + price premiums especially on long white glass teles. Think about this...If for a split second, the AF decides to focus on the wall or the audience instead of the pitcher/whomever you are taking a shot of, your photo is lost regardless of how fast your AF is.

Good luck on your future pursuit which ever it may be!

The only thing that Nikon might tempt me is the aperture coupler in the D### and the amount of long and semi fast AI tele's sittin around at the camera stores collecting dust.

There there. nothing wrong with changing to Canon, its a better system than Pentax for sports photography due to better AF system and longer lenses available.

Lets not ruin this for sale thread with canon vs pentax spam.

Good luck with the sale and enjoy your new camera. Would be interesting to hear if you would come back here and post your impressions after the switch, that could help others who are wondering if hte grass is greener on the other side.

Frankly I wouldn't go Canon! I just switched from Canon myself!! They are not very good with customer service and don't really give 2 poos about their clients or what they want either.

Anyways.. if you do switch.. I still have some Cannon gear left over for sale! Maybe we could do some trading or something?

300D Rebel (under 5K shots)+ Grip, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX HSM, 20D + Grip (under 3K shots) + Transferable warranty (like a year left or something) + wired remote + all accessories & papers & software, Kit Lens, and a few other things like memory and knick knacks.

Uh, folks, this is a "FS" thread. Nick didn't ask if he was making the "right" decision.

Mods, could you please clean up this thread? I am not going to defend my decision in a for sale thread... This is to sell the gear, if you don't want anything, please don't post. Thanks.

DigitalDevo, you've got a PM.

I am afraid you will upset people here by changing your signature picture to C*.

Here are those pics you wanted:

20D + BG + wired remote + 1GB HS CF + 18-155mm kit lens + boxes & paperwork + transferable warranty + low shutter count

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX HSM + Box & paperwork + tripod mount + carrying case:

300D + wired remote + BG + box & paperwork + low shutter count:

Everything aside from the Sigma 70-200mm is easily a 9+. The Sigma is about an 8 due to the little nick on the plastic rim, but it does not hurt usage nor use of filters (they work fine).
