[SOLD] Scarce SMC K 200mm f4 *MINT*, priced to sell (Worldwide)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Scarce SMC K 200mm f4 *MINT*, priced to sell

Asking Price
$100

Item Location
Kearney, Nebraska USA

Item Description
This is a *MINT* copy of the hard-to-find SMC K version of the 200mm f4.
See sample photo gallery: Pentax smc 200mm f/4 Lens Sample Photos and Specifications
This lens is flawless, optically, mechanically and cosmetically. It comes in a soft case and accepts 58mm filters. Original Pentax SMC K caps also included.

As you probably already know the SMC K lenses were the universally loved and respected Super-Multi-Coated Takumar optics put in a well-constructed K-mount body. Easy to use on a Pentax DSLR... set the camera in M, select your desired aperture, hit the Green Button and your shutter speed is automatically set for you.

This lens is for anyone who appreciates quality PRIME lenses and who is satisfied with nothing less than MINT condition. (Amazing for a lens that was produced between 1975-1977). Also for the lover of Takumar optics who wants the added convenience of the K-mount, rather than fiddling with the adapter.

While the lens being offered is MINT, the price is a mere $5 above the average price (also outdated) of an average lens, as shown on the PF review page.

Shipping will be $8 to the Continental U.S., $10 to Canada. Worldwide shipping will be actual cost (your choice, fast or cheap). Email me for an exact quote.

K-series lenses are manual aperture only. It cannot be set from the body.

Shooting in Tv mode will not work because the body can't set the aperture. You have to shoot in M mode, or possibly Av.

Outside of the F, FA and DA lenses, you can only do that with the A series MF lenses or those with an A setting third party lenses.

If you have your Green Button correctly set up (in the menus), automatic operation with these kinds of lenses is very easy. Set your camera to M mode. Select your desired aperture on the lens. Hit the green button, and the shutter speed is selected for you.

People who think they have to have "A" lenses are a great boon to those of use who don't. (Keeping prices ridiculously low like on this crazy fine piece of glass).

You are right on the Green Button manual metering! Now I can use all the M lenses much easier with dSLR.

Make sure you allow aperture ring use. Go to the menu and allow it, I think it is option 2. That is because current DSLR do not have an aperture ring.
