Item Description
This lens has an interesting (albeit short) history. I purchased it around the same time I got the F version of this lens, through a combination of circumstance and excessive LBA. The item was billed as new when sold to me, and I can certainly find no signs of use. There are no scratches, marks or signs of use that I can find on the body, glass or lens mount. However, as I examined the lens more closely, I saw a speck of some sort along with several fine hairs inside the lens. So, I shipped it off to Eric, and he confirmed that the speck was just dust or a small insect, and NOT fungus. So, it has had a full cleaning and adjustment, and is truly in mint condition.

I ended up keeping the F copy of this lens because I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to the series, but I consider the FA to be every bit as good. (and most probably prefer the style/look of it) Many have sung the praises of this lens here on the forums, but I'll just mention a few things that I love about it:

* Build quality (all metal construction)
* Image quality - I find it to be fantastic
* Compactness - Just try and find another auto focus ƒ2.8 lens over 100mm this small...
* Close focus - gets close enough to work as a pseudo-macro lens in a pinch
* Built-in hood

The lens comes in the original box with the manual and warranty card. I realize that the price is on the high side, but I believe it's justified for an as new copy of a rare and quite coveted lens.
