Item Description
Here is a great budget zoom lens - a silver Pentax FA-J 75-300mm f/4.5-5.8. This is an awesome lens for trips! A little banged up and has some scratches on the exterior (normal with the silver-colored finish) but the optics are perfect and from what I can see scratch-free. I can send you some test shots taken with the lens if you wish. Has nice Pentax colors and rendering, sharpens up nicely at about f/8.

Very versatile and light considering it's size. I bought this lens used from a camera store 1 & a 1/2 years ago for $110.

This is a great alternative to the DA 50-200mm!

Thanks for looking!

Hey I'm a new member, just getting my posts in so I can PM you...damage any worse than just scratches and scuffs? Any dents or cracks or anything like that?

---------- Post added 05-09-11 at 06:12 PM ----------

Also, could you post a test shot or two at minimum and maximum zoom? Thanks!

Sounds like the only issue is a little soft at 300MM...anything else to really watch out for?

I personally believe that in the case of the x-300mm f6.3 or f5.8, etc zooms, the softness at the longest focal distance is mostly due unsteady hands. Even with shake reduction control, at 300mm f6.3, the light coming in is very little, the shutter speed required is usually long (1/50, 1/60 secs). If you follow the rule that you should use at least 1/300 sec, then the result may be a soft image. I have tried all those lenses (above 200mm) on a tripod, and most of the time they are just fine.
