Item Description
Samyang 100-500mm f:5.6-7.1 zoom lens - $105 shipped - PRICE DROP - SALE PENDING

This was my main wildlife & bird lens until recently. It's a big, fairly heavy lens. I call it "The Rocket Launcher". I've gotten quite a few decent wildlife shots with it. There are a few examples below.

This lens is in good cosmetic condition with a few wear marks, as shown in the photos. Blades are oil free.

There is an issue which does not affect operation or image quality: There is some condensation residue behind the front element. The last photo of the lens show the detail of the residue. I enhanced this photo to bring out the detail. Actually looking at the lens, the marking is less pronounced than in the photo... Once again, this residue has no effect on image quality, as shown in the example photos. If you have a lens spanner, it should be a simple matter to remove the front element and clean behind it, but I don't have one.

It was a Ricoh KR-mount, but I removed the Ricoh pin, so it works normally with Pentax bodies without danger of getting stuck. The "A" setting works as it should. Everything works as it should on this lens.

It also has a built-in rotating tripod collar, and comes with a Promaster UV filter.

I'll be the first to admit it's not a Bigma, but it's cheap, and it does the job, and if someone tries to mug you, you can beat them to death with it. Comes with front & rear caps.

(This one shows detail of condensation residue behind front element.)

Shots taken with Samyang 100-500mm lens: (All were taken handheld, at the longest 500mm setting.)

Just noticed that there is no review of this lens in the PF data base. I own a copy of this lens and have to say that the seller's description of it is accurate IMHO. I call it the Rocket Launcher too and would have no hesitation using it too good effect on an attacker both to disuade them from harming me and to take photos of them running...er...limping away after it's use.

Bump for a fun lens.
