[SOLD] 2 Inexpensive AF zooms- Pentax-FA 35-80mm, Tamron 28-200

Tamron AF Aspherical LD [IF] 28-200mm 1:3.8-5.8 - $89 plus shipping NOW $79 --> SOLD
Pentax-FA SMC 35-80mm f/4-5.6 - $14 plus shipping SOLD

Shipping in the US only $5 for the FA, $8 for the Tamron. International shipping available, please inquire as to rates to your country.

The Tamron is a nice super zoom in great condition, looks almost new. Glass does have some internal dust, bu no fungus or scratches. The zoom range is better on the 35mm format than on a DSLR, obviously, but it still can be an all-in-one lens solution if you don't like to go too wide. It is surprisingly compact at 28mm, although decently heavy, and well-made despite including a fair bit of plastic. It is possible to induce zoom creep with some jiggling. IQ is decent for a a zoom lens with such a large range, and macro mode is quite nice. Original caps and hood are included.

The FA 35-80 shares the optical formula of the unloved A and F35-80, but with a snazzy silver paint job and a plastic mount. It is unbelievably light as a result, only 190g - less than an F 50 /1.7! And maybe they tweaked the optics along the way, I don't know, but the reviews here are distinctly better than the F version, and I have had pretty good results with this as an outdoor lens. It focuses closely through out its range, with up to 1:4 magnification, which is nice for flowers. 35mm is a decent normal length for kids in a scene, while at 80 you can zoom in on their faces. I think IQ is at least equal to the 18-55 lens, with better close-up performance. I don't have caps for this one, unfortunately, and the paint is scratched in a few places, but glass is clear beyond the usual dust.

I will happily refund your purchase price if you find the lens to be other than as described, and I will even pay for shipping one way if a return is needed. If you have any questions please ask. Shipping can be combined as well.

Thanks for looking!
Nick

But the Tamron is still available! At a nice price too, I might add, the same price that inspired me to buy it in the first place. Now it turns out that a big zoom is not for me... but it might be just what you need! :-)

A few sample shots:

Makes a nice lens for zoo outings, wider shot with family then zoom in on the animals.

Hmmm, no action in a while. Open to offers, if you would like it but the price is too high.
