[SOLD] Tokina 50-135 f/2.8 for Nikon - $600 shipped

Up for sale are my recently acquired Nikon D300 and three fine DX lenses. I love all of this gear, but I've recently come to the realization that as a rank amateur I have absolutely no need for THREE dSLRs plus a MILC and several film cameras.

The items are as follows:

1) The D300 has a shutter count of 5960 and is in near perfect cosmetic condition. There's some minor wear on the rubber of the base plate where it's been set down on rough surfaces, but aside from that I'm struggling to find a fault with it. Mechanically it's perfect as well. I've never had an issue. The camera comes with a genuine Nikon battery, the original charger, the manuals, and the box. As a bonus, a 2GB Sandisk Extreme II CF card is also included. I am asking $850 shipped. SOLD!

2) Up next is a Tokina 35mm f/2.8 Macro lens. This is the same lens, optically speaking, as the Pentax DA 35/2.8 Macro Limited, and this one is just as good. Razor sharp from wide open, and you can focus on subjects that are virtually touching the glass. It's an extremely versatile lens that's great for landscapes and as a "normal" lens as well as for macros. This lens is in like new condition both cosmetically and mechanically. The glass is spotless and everything works smoothly. It comes in the original box with the original hood, as well as the receipt and blank warranty card. I am asking $265 shipped. SOLD!

3) Third up is a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens of the non-BIM/non-VC variety. This is the most desirable version of the lens, and it is in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition. As with many Tamron 17-50's, the front filter ring worked itself loose over time and it was still loose when I purchased it from its previous owner. He had damaged one of the three plastic tabs that hold the front fascia in place in his attempt to tighten the filter ring, so when I tightened it I used a dab of crazy glue to secure it in place. Since this operation the filter ring has not re-loosened itself and the plastic fascia around the front element has remained secure. The glass is in good shape front and rear, and the zoom and focus rings work perfectly. The lens is quite sharp from wide open. It comes with the original caps and hood, but no box or papers. I am asking $300 shipped, which is what I paid for it. SOLD!

4) Finally I have a Tokina 50-135 f/2.8 lens. Optically speaking, this lens is identical to the Pentax DA* 50-135/2.8, which is well-loved around here, as I'm sure you know. Of course, it's not SDM, so you don't have that to worry about. This lens is in like new condition cosmetically and mechanically. This is legendary glass and increasingly rare on the market. The lens comes in the original box with the original hood, and also includes the warranty card and manual, but no receipt. I am asking $575 shipped.

******************************

NOTES:

1. All lenses will be shipped USPS Priority with full insurance, unless the buyer prefers some other carrier and is willing to pay the difference.
2. I would prefer payment by personal check from a trusted PentaxForums member (ample positive feedbacks would be best). If you can't do personal check for some reason, PM me and we can discuss other payment options.
3. All three lenses are traditional screwdriven lenses and thus autofocus WILL NOT work on lower-end Nikon bodies.
4. Photos of the gear can be taken upon request, and I can also provide images FROM the lenses if you like. But I feel I've done a good job of describing all items accurately.

PM or email works to contact me. Thanks!

If I did not already own #2 and #4, I would be mighty tempted!

I also use my Tokina 35mm macro on my D700 with much satisfaction.

Yes, the Tokina Macro is also a screw driven lens, so it also needs a Nikon Body with a focus motor.

The Tokina 50-135 has really earned its positive reputation as a lens for those in the know.

Strangely, the 35 goes largely unnoticed, thought it too deserves great respect. Anyone shooting Nikon DX should give this one serious consideration, and especially compare its value against the K mount sibling.

Good luck with the sale, all of these items are top shelf.

Here are a couple sample shots from the D300 + Tokina 35/2.8 Macro to show how insanely sharp this lens is (and how good the D300 AF is):

And here are a few from the D300 + Tokina 50-135/2.8:

Finally, from the D300 + Tamron 17-50/2.8:
