Item Description
I've got forsale a Pentax DA18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR lens.
I've had it since December 2010 and is still under Aus warranty with CRK till December 2011.

It's in excellent condition (body and optically), however, there is a couple of slight scratches on the hood and front lens cap.
It comes with everything: box, manual, original lens hood, front and rear caps.

I'd love to keep it, the AF is super quick and silent, and optically it takes nice pics, but I have a bad case of LBA.
I might come to regret selling this lens.. so get in quick before I change my mind!

Any idea how the scratches got on there? Any SDM or focusing issues?

The 18-135 doesn't use SDM, so I doubt it has any SDM issues...

Scratched against a brick
No SDM/DC issues. Plus it's still under warranty. There haven't been any reports of failure in this lens (to my knowledge..)

18-135 used the new DC motor. As the OP says, as of yet there haven't been any of the issues that plagued SDM.

Yeah, it has a new DC motor for its SDM autofocus.

Anyway, a terrific lens (already have a copy) - very versatile. Good luck with the sale!

No, SDM is not a system, it is a motor. a Supersonic Drive Motor. It is not an SDM. Please don't post misinformation that could interfere with someone's sale.

Well, I think you better let Pentax know that they're spreading misinformation:

3. Extra-smooth SDM autofocus operation
A DC motor built into the lensí AF (autofocus) unit assures extra-smooth autofocus operation.

Oh shoot, even this site states that it has "a DC motor for the SDM focusing system".
