Item Description IMPORTANT: Not sure you want to buy this unless you have Fine Focus Adjustments (see below).
Purchased this open box just over two months right after I got my K-5. Wanted a 50mm for portrait, and went with this one since it provided macro and had excellent reviews. I have used it almost exclusively for macro work since (liked that a lot more than I thought I would), and the lens has been great for me.
Got a really bad case of LBA since then, and just got a 100mm WR macro, as well as a DA* 16-50mm. Will regret selling it, but I really need to recoup some of all that money I have spent lately.
This lens is EXTREMELY sharp. Actually appears slightly sharper in the center and same in the corner compared to my new 100mm. Both lenses blow away my 16-50, 16-45, and 55-300 at f/5.6. Wide open the difference is even bigger. To be honest I am struggling with justifyng the 100mm though I am getting an extra 2.5" working distance (fewer bee stings?)
and it sure is pretty
So only problem with the lens is that it back focuses (or is it front?). Anyway - it needs a +7 adjustment on my K-5 - my other lenses uses a +2. Took me a while to figure this out, but defintely helped once done. Not sure you should buy this lens if your camera can't do AF adjustments.
Comes with everything original - lens bag, hood, front and lens cap (some scraches), paperwork, and box (not pretty).
