I think the "j/k" is referring to the price being 10k. Later in the ad he mentions 6.5k if he can't find the trade he wants.

Yes i found out the story, its from a deceased relatives estate, they were quite happy to get a lot more then they were initially asking for.

As was posted, the 10K price tag was just to get attention, the first responder has offered my asking price of 6.5K however it will take a few weeks to complete the transaction. The back story has mostly been filled in through the post.

I replied to the original Kijiji add but you beat me to it. I wasn't sure if it was real when I saw the photos at first. This was going to fund my trip to Europe.

I guess if you are in Europe or Latin America, it would be $10.000, in the US is $10,000.

If i can't find a trade or someone really wants the lens but doesn't have the 500/4.5, The lowest i could go for selling the 600/4 is $6500+shipping to allow me to cover the cost of the 500/4.5 (in Canada) however a smart person may consider picking up the 500/4.5 cheaper in the US and trading the only negative for me in that regard is only a 1 year international warranty ... hmmm... unless i send it back to the states for service but then that might cost more for shipping then the standard service charge on the lens locally.

Seems reasonable (and quite fair) to me. Good luck with the pending sale and your new Sigma 500/4.5 once you get it
