[SOLD] Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro (CONUS)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro (CONUS)

Asking Price
$300 USD FREE SHIPPING

$300, FREE SHIPPING

Item Location
Las Vegas (United States)

Item Description
It's a moderately used Sigma 24-70mm EX DG (Macro) for Pentax.
I've bought it from another forum member a couple of months ago, but I find myself using primes mostly, so I wanted to lessen the financial burden on myself by letting this lens go.

It comes with the Sigma front cap and a generic rear cap.

The lens is in great shape without much sign of use, just a bit of the usual wear and tear on zoom rings, but it can easily be cleaned.
I haven't found any faults on the lens, and it's been good to me throughout the time I used it.

Giving it a price reduction and a little change.
It is now 300 dollars, but you'll have to pay for PayPal Fees 3%, and an actual price for the shipping, which rounds up to $9 in the USA.

FOCUSING ISSUE
After reading some concerns by other members, I decided to do some testing.
On my K10D, I had no problem, but on K-x, the focusing was a bit off.
To fix the problem, I went into debug mode, and adjusted the AF by -100, and now is on par with other lens' focus accuracy.
I have not yet tested it on other Pentax models, but that was the difference from K10D and K-x.

Went to a local camera store and tried this lens on K-5, K-7 and K-r. There were no focus issues I could find. I think it's my K-x that needs adjustment.
Selling for $300 flat.

I have the same copy of this lens, producing very good quality pictures. Very useful zoom lens with constant f/2.8. Good luck on your selling

Thank you very much! I love this lens, but I just can't afford to keep this when I have a few prime lens that covers that range.

Ok. Let's do it this way.
Price reduction, and a little changes.

It's been a few days already, and I'm quite surprise at the lack of interests from people...
Is my price off or something?
With everything included, it's $318 USD

Maybe you should add some high quality pictures that were taken with this lens.

I would have jumped on this if I didn't already have my Tamron. The 24 end is more useful than the extra reach you get with the Tammy.

Would you consider shipping to Australia?

just noticed something about the focusing issue.
It's not the lens' fault, but seems like the camera's fault.
Updated it up on top.

Maybe you should test out some other lenses on your k-x and ascertain that its a fault with the camera or not...

After some testing with both K10D and K-x, it seems like the Sigma 24-70 is the one at fault.
It's fine on k10D, but on k-x, it has some front focusing issue.
This issue, however, was easily remedied by adjusting the AF level in debug mode.

I don't really know how to proceed from this point.
If I use this lens on K-x, I'd have to manually adjust the focus level every time I switch lenses.
This can be bothersome, but it's easy to change the AF.

Best to contact the administrators. I wouldn't buy it, knowing this fault. Either that, or you could continue to sell it, but I don't think anybody would buy it at the price you've asked at the moment.
