In my opinion, FA 50 Macro is the sharpest lens in my collection, which includes F 100 2.8 Macro and F 50 1.4 both highly regarded lenses. I tihnk at F2.8 it even outperforms some of my other lenses stopped down.

I've taken a liking to F lenses, for reasons I can't explain. Maybe it's the rare factor, or be it LBA.

Built quality of FA Macro is fantastic. There isn't anything negative for me to say about it, except its focus ring seems to have become lose over time despite tightened clamp, but it's no big deal.

Let me know if you want to sell yours in the future.

I've owned (and recently sold) the Fa macro and it is indeed the sharpest I've seen. I'd say the DFA 100 WR is about the same, or near enough as to make no difference, but it's certainly not sharper.

Me too! I like the old "out of star wars" look, with the red post-modern fonts, and the gray barrel.

I have the tamron 28- 75, pentax FA 501.4, DA40 and FA35. But, nothing made me love photography as this pentax F 50mm f2.8 macro. I agree with bdery with his " out of sar wars" comment. It is such a beauty to hold and shoot with. @ Jackseh - even if i move out of pentax, i won't sell it

There is one in ebay at buy it now price of 350$ + 15$ shipping. I think the price is reasonable, considering how rare this lens is. The seller says it is like new. I paid 325$ for my version, which I would describe as fair. It is worth every penny though.
