[ACQUIRED] Tamron 112mm Normal Filter

This is the front filter for the Adaptall 300/2.8. The one I've got is a bit nicked and I'd like to get a clean copy The going rate seems to be around $50-$100, depending on condition. I'm game.

It took me a while to get it, but I got it for $125 plus shipping at KEH. Check there from time to time. It does make a difference on the Tamron 300mm f2.8. Good luck.

If you've got one to spare, I'll take it.

Going to be a tough find. Believe they were OEM on 60B,360B series along
with SP 400/4.Might be able to scratch one up at KEH.Hate to say this...
maybe expand search into (choke!,gasp!,eegads!) canon, nikon, and minolta forums.
360B went on for awhile after adaptall2 production stopped with at least a
minolta mount that I seen and held.Pretty sure made for nikon and canon too.
Same 112mm filter threads up front.

P.S. Holding onto mine like 'grim death',where would I find another one?

I suspect you're right, Bill, and thanks for the suggestions. I'm wondering whether a good quality off-brand with good coatings might work almost as well? I'll keep my eye out but no decent quality 112mm filter is going to come cheap. I better start scouring yard sales.

Before I got mine, I spoke via email with techincal support at Tamron; they told me that there was nothing special in this lens, just a normal filter. Then I bought a $25 UV filter made in China, the IQ lost a bit with that filter, so I removed. However, when I got the Normal filter, the image was superior. The normal lens does not seem normal, in fact, it is a bit thicker than the one I purchase earlier. I hope you find it. I am sure you will.

Hey, folks, I really need one of these filters. Do me a favor and see if you have one in that drawer where you stash photographic what-nots,

I have acquired a B+H 112mm filter and have also concluded that it is the 43mm rear drop-in filter (which I have) which is critical to IQ. Thus I'm closing down this thread.
