[SOLD] Pentax A*300/4 with optional Rear Converter-A 2X-S

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Pentax A*300/4 with optional Rear Converter-A 2X-S

Asking Price
$550 for the A*300, $125 for the 2X-S, $625 for both ($50 off)

Item Location
Maryland (United States)

Item Description
For sale is a Pentax A*300/4 in outstanding condition. It comes with the original box, hard leather case, strap, caps, manual, lens brochure, serial card and product registration card. It is in like-new condition; focus is smooth, glass is clean, aperture is clean dry and quick. No issues, just a beautiful piece of glass. I picked it up recently in a trade for another lens, but I just picked up (yet another) 300mm AF prime and something has to go to pay for my LBA

I also have the Pentax Rear Converter-A 2X-S which matches well with the A*300. The 2X-S is in excellent condition and comes with front and rear caps and the matching hard leather case (also in EX condition).

I am asking $550 for the A*300/4, $125 for the 2X-S or $625 for both ($50 off).

Please PM me with any questions, thanks!

I've got 5306820, a bit older but it will never be sold. Fantastic lens. Can be hand-held all day especially with the faster ISO's since its Super Program days.

It is remarkably compact and light for a 300/4. Even compared to the slightly slower F*300/4.5, the A*300 is more compact.

Soooo tempting. However, I feel there should be a month go by that I DON'T buy a lens from Dan. If you're considering this lens, take my word for it -- you can buy from Dan with complete confidence.

Agreed, Dan is the man. If I hadn't just bought the 100mm WR, I'd be all over this. Though I guess it's implied.....you don't earn a 100% positive /158 reply feedback score, without being a standup seller.

Let's be fair, one month it was a bag, not a lens

You have any pictures taken with the two of them?

Below is the only thing I could find (that is already uploaded and online) that I know used the 2X-S converter. The only problem is I'm not sure which 300mm lens was on it at the time as I don't think it gets recorded in the EXIF (the 600mm does, but only because you input that as the FL for the SR system).

So anyway, this probably isn't really going to be that helpful, but here's a link to a 100% crop of a shot using the 2X-S. I can check when I get home to see if I saved any others, but most of them were like the one below and just backyard "test shots" fooling around.
