Item Description
Looks pretty rough, Right? Oddly enough, it isn't too terrible of a lens. At first I thought something was missing from the front but with the lens racked all the way out for close focusing, it appears complete. When at infinity, it appears as if the focus ring acts as a hood. That, or I'm completely nutz. Anyway, in spite of appearance, the glass is surprisingly clean. Not perfect by any means but certainly useable. The Aperture is snappy and the lens works fine on the K5. The last two photos are wide open and stopped down respectively. I don't remember exactly where though. Close focused, the lens is sharp. As you get further away, it does soften up and needs to be stopped down. That is, I wouldn't count on any sharp infinity shots at f1.7.
Quality-wise, I would put this lens on par at least with the Pentax M50mm f2.0 with the obvious differences (no SMC). It may make a killer macro if reversed or put on to some extension tubes. Anyway, if you seek an f1:1.7 lens, Dirt cheap, this one may be the one you seek (and didn't even know it). The prices stated within the add include shipping.
Thanks for looking.
